ATLANTIC COAST CONFERENCE

Maryland QB Shaun Hill. Hill isn't the prettiest thrower or the most physically impressive quarterback, but he gave Maryland exactly what it needed--smart, consistent play--for its surprising run to the ACC title.

BIG TEN CONFERENCE

Illinois WR Brandon Lloyd. QB Kurt Kittner, who struggled badly last year, is the Big Ten's best this season. The reason: Lloyd, who missed all of last season with a broken leg, has returned to his role as the Illini's playmaker.

CONFERENCE USA
