Abstract

A survey was administered to 623 Mexican American students who attended a summer mathematics and science enrichment program at a university located on the Texas-Mexico border. The purposes of the survey were to gain an understanding of students' perception of opportunities for constructivist, classroom practices, and their feeling about how prepared they are to take advanced mathematics classes. A multivariate analysis of variance was conducted with gender, primary language, and ability as independent variables.
