NEW DELHI, Dec 3 Asia Pulse - Setting up of a statutory board for workers in the unorganised sector, provision of multi-purpose identity cards and payment of minimum wages equivalent to initial salary drawn by a Class-IV Central Government employee have been recommended to the second National Labour Commission.
"The Unorganised Sector Workers' Board, which shall be a statutory executive authority, should be enacted by Parliament," former bureaucrat D Bandyopadhayay, convenor of the study group on Umbrella Legislation for Workers in the Unorganised Sector, told repoters here on Friday.
