DUBAI, Dec 3 Asia Pulse - Oman's Minister of Commerce, Industries and Mines, Maqbul-ibn-Ali Sultan, heading a delegation, has left Muscat for Tehran on a three-day official visit to attend the eighth meeting of the Iran-Oman Joint Cooperation Commission in Tehran.
Prior to his departure, Maqbul Sultan said in Muscat that a number of significant issues including bilateral trade cooperation and the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on increasing the volume of investment by the two countries would be discussed.
In his meeting with Iran's Commerce Minister Mohammad Shariat-Madari, the Omani minister will discuss issues such as opening Oman's trade office in Bandar Abbas and Iran's Trade Center in Muscat and launching passenger service between the ports of Sultan Qaboos, Solaleh and Iranian ports.
The two sides are also due to discuss joint ventures between their private sectors.
