TOKYO, Dec 3 Asia Pulse - Mitsui Construction Co. (TSE:1821) said Friday it posted a consolidated net loss of 2.7 billion yen (US$21.87 million) in the fiscal first half ended Sept. 30, an improvement from a 90.1 billion yen loss the previous year. The firm attributed the outcome to a larger-than-expected volume of construction completions.

Group sales rose 4 per cent on the year to 165.4 billion yen. Cuts in personnel expenses and sales and administrative costs could not offset the decline in gross margin ...
