BANGALORE, Dec 3 Asia Pulse - Indian tea giant, Tata Tea(ABSE:TTTE), has sought total exemption of excise duty on tea, considering the scenario in which the tea industry finds itself today.
"If at all, government should encourage the tea industry in distress by removing the two percent excise duty. And we are lobbying very hard for it," P T Siganporia, deputy managing director, Tata Tea Limited, said here on Friday.
