When a reporter asked him about news that a Massachusetts biotech company had taken steps toward cloning a human embryo, President George W. Bush responded with all the deliberation of someone ordering extra cheese on a pizza.
"The use of embryos to clone is wrong," he said. "We should not as a society grow life to destroy it. It's morally wrong, in my opinion."
The president equated medical research aimed at improving the success of organ transplants with the stuff of bad -- is there any other kind? -- Arnold Schwarzenegger movies and comic books.
