BRADENTON -- This all started when Jordan Jenkins was 2 years old.

She was at a country club with her mother in Champaign, Ill. and her mom was talking to the tennis pro.

Jordan spotted a tennis racket nearby, picked it up, and started hitting a ball against a fence. She is now 12, and hasn't stopped.

"I got bored so I just picked one up," Jordan Jenkins said. "Ever since then, I've loved it."

Jenkins, a student at Sarasota High who hopes to graduate at 15 and turn pro, lost Wednesday in the semifinal round of the Eddie Herr International Tennis Championships 12-under …
