ISLAMABAD, Sept 3 Asia Pulse - The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) has approved 12 development projects worth Rs54.7 billion (US$857.3 million).
This includes projects such as the raising of the Mangla Dam and the Gomal Zam dam, and the extension of the Right Bank Outfall Drain (RBOD) from Sehwan to the sea.
Presided over by Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz, Ecnec also approved other projects related to drought and water management, education, agriculture and transportation.
While approving the extension of RBOD at a cost of Rs14 billion, Ecnec was told that the project was located in the Dadu and Thatta districts of Sindh.
