INDONESIAN RUPIAH SET TO STRENGTHEN AGAIN: CENTRAL BANK GOV.
JAKARTA, Sept 3 Asia Pulse - Bank Indonesia Governor Syahril Sabirin has said that he is expecting the rupiah to strengthen again until a new equilibrium was achieved.
"The opportunity for the rupiah to strengthen again is still open. Let's see what happens in the next few days, while it has already appreciated to a level below 9,000 per US dollar," he said.
He added the fluctuation of the rupiah had been better than before the special session of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) last month.
He said temporary upheavals in the past few days only demonstrated normal market dynamism when demand for the US dollar was on the increase.
