SEOUL, Sept 3 Asia Pulse - North Korea on has proposed an early resumption of talks with South Korea, making a turning point in the months-long stalled inter-Korean relations.
Rim Dong-ok, vice-chairman of the committee for the peaceful reunification of fatherland, said: "We propose an early resumption of talks with the South in accordance with the spirit of the joint North-South declaration, reflecting the wishes of the whole Korean people." His comments were reported by Radio Pyongyang, a state-run media outlet for Koreans abroad.
The committee is an affiliate of the North's ruling Workers' Party.
