Maybe it's the effect of listening to these three bands - Bliss 66, Default and The Mayfield Four - in close succession, but I have a hard time telling them apart.

Or maybe it's the fact that they're scruffy, greasy-haired guys in hipster wear. Or that their guitars all sound the same. Or that the songs they play are banal and hackneyed and predictable.

Oh, yeah, these kids are MTV-ready, all right.
