Technology: Freddie Posts Preliminary Guidelines for Electronic Loans.(Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp.)(Brief Article)
Freddie Mac has published its preliminary specifications for electronic single-family mortgages. The GSE has made the document available on its website (www.freddiemac.com/singlefamily) as a PDF file.
The preliminary specifications are based on earlier drafts published in November 2000 and in March. Feedback on the drafts was solicited and incorporated into the document Freddie published earlier this summer, the GSE said.
"These specifications are paving the way, not only for our future policies, but also for the guidelines and standards that the mortgage finance industry will eventually employ," Freddie Mac's executive vice president for the single-family group Paul T. Peterson said in a release.
