Upgrading a computer system often means changing printers, too. Newer versions of Windows or the Macintosh operating system may not support an old printer. If you've upgraded the computer to handle digital-image files or desktop publishing, you'll probably need a new printer, with high resolution, to do justice to the photos and graphics. And if the home office is your only office, you may need a laser printer to output reams of correspondence.
