HOLMES BEACH -- Anna Maria Island's only charter and middle school opened its doors Thursday night to show off its classrooms and teachers before school officially begins.

Parents and residents of the island met members of the staff and took tours of the school. Children will take classes in the educational building at Island Baptist Church, 206 85th St., Holmes Beach.
