* Police who went to home report finding mold in fridge, crack-cocaine pipes
Albuquerque police have filed a felony child abuse charge against a woman after officers went to her home to handle a stolen car case and allegedly found her three children living in "horrid" conditions.
Sophia Gutierrez's house on Dennison SW had what appeared to be feces inside, mold in the refrigerator and clothing strewn throughout the dining room, said Albuquerque Police Department Detective Tim Fassler, who's handling the case. Fassler said police also found crack-cocaine pipes inside the house.
Gutierrez, 25, was booked into jail Wednesday on felony charges including conspiracy, child abuse, and receiving or transferring a stolen car.
Her boyfriend, Calletano Villalva, 20, was arrested in connection with the stolen car case, and Fassler said police also plan to seek a grand jury indictment charging him with felony child abuse.
Fassler said a woman who lives near the couple's home went by the place about noon Tuesday and spotted her stolen Oldsmobile four-door parked outside. The woman confronted Villalva and Gutierrez, and they fled inside the home with two of ...
