A joint Turkmen-Uzbek commission on economic cooperation has started its work in the Turkmen capital, Turkmen Press news agency reported on 6 November. The commission discussed the creation of markets along the borders, the report said, noting the personal control of the countries' presidents over the project. The report also said that the commission intend to discuss economic relations in such spheres as oil and gas, water industry, transport corridors, and use of land.
