BEFORE I get into gear for my New Year countdown, I just want to pose this question (even if some quarters may oppose): Was there too much politicking in the Metro Manila Film Festival awards?

I heard from insiders that even action star Rudy Fernandez himself was startled why his movie, "Hula Mo, Huli Ko," bested Bong Revilla's "Agimat" in the sound effects department, when Rudy's film was recorded in mono format, while Bong's fantasy flick was dolby digitally enhanced and it was even done in Australia, since that technology is not available in the country yet.

How strange that "Agimat," which is the filmfest's topgrosser, only won the best float award.
