KOTA KINABALU, Sun. - The agreement between the Sabah Government and China to develop a pulp and paper mill in Kalabakan, Tawau, has been terminated, Chief Minister Datuk Chong Kah Kiat confirmed last night. He said the termination took effect in July after close scrutiny found that the terms and conditions of the joint-venture project were unfavourable to the State. Some 350,000 hectares were identified for the proposed project and the State Government had at that time committed the area for a land fee of RM100 per hectare.
