PRAGUE, Nov 13 (CTK) - Czech writer and playwright Pavel Kohout was presented with the Great Merit Cross with a Star and Ribbon by German ambassador to the Czech Republic Michael Libal mainly for the organisation of the annual Prague Theatre Festival of German Language at State Opera today.

"Life of Pavel Kohout is a great example of hope in the strength of the word," Libal said.

He praised Kohout for not being afraid of unpleasant truths at home, in Germany as well as in Austria and for having built bridges where silence and misunderstanding reigned.
