Dale Earnhardt's auto racing expertise was [beyond reproach. Larry McReynolds' remains close to that. Yet when the two men were working together as driver and crew chief, there was one rather large aspect of their sport over which they disagreed.
Qualifying.
"That," McReynolds says of qualifying, "is the one thing that Dale and I did not see eye to eye on. He just didn't choose to put a lot of emphasis on qualifying. And I do."
