Moving the masses

Thanks much for the inspiring story of Johnny Oates' fight with cancer. (TSN, April 22).

As much as I love sports, there are indeed other things more important. As the story indicated, there's nothing like being forced to face one's own mortality to bring a sense of focus into one's life.

Sometimes I've assumed that enjoying sports and having a deep religious faith are mutually exclusive, but Johnny Oates has wonderfully proved me wrong.
