Kanu presidential candidate Uhuru Kenyatta launched the final leg of his campaigns at Uhuru Park backed by his mentor - President Moi.

The rally was, by all standards, a State function as it was organised by government officials. Those present included permanent secretary in charge of internal security Zakayo Cheruiyot and Nairobi provincial commissioner Cyrus Maina

However, the meeting was marred by a walk-out by a section of the crowd when President Moi was giving his address. The head of State ended his speech after six minutes as the crowd continued to leave the park.
