The emergence of Kenya's largest retail chain of Uchumi into Ugandan market is likely to boost the initiatives of the East African Business Council.

State minister in charge of Investments Sam Kuteesa, has noted that when investors within the three sister states spread across board; "it will be an incentive to strengthen investments hence foster global competition in favour of the region."

Kutesa made the remarks while officially launching Uchumi Supermarket at Garden City Mall in Kampala Dec 7.
