Mystery surrounds claims that a hoax bomb call to Cape Town's Holocaust Centre on Tuesday afternoon was made from a fax machine line at Parliament. A report in the Argus newspaper on Friday quoted South African Police Service spokeswoman Nina Kirsten as confirming the number from which the call emanated as belonging "to a fax machine in Parliament". Kirsten was off-duty and not available for comment on Friday afternoon. But parliamentary police officer Senior Superintendent Vufunzi Piyo, contacted for comment by Sapa, said the hoax call "never happened at Parliament".
