KANGAR, Dec 9 (Bernama) -- No tourist has booked or stayed at the house of participants taking part in the "homestay" programme launched in Perlis two months ago, a state executive councillor said today.
Datuk Abu Bakar Ismail said no tourist, whether local or foreign, had made bookings for homestay.
The programme was launched on Sept 29 as part of the tourism promotion events for Visit Perlis Year 2003-2005 and to cope with the shortage of hotel rooms in the state.
Fifteen traditional villages offering accommodation along coastal areas, padi fields, hilly places and farms are participating in the programme.
