Incensed by the usurpation of most of their functions by the CBN, workers of the National Board for Community Banks (NBCB) have threatened legal action against the apex bank.
"A recent directive by the CBN that the NBCB should stop working while at the same time contracting consultants to carry out the statutory functions of the NBCB is wasteful, illegal and therefore unacceptable," the workers declared.
This was contained in a communique issued at the end of their union's National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held in Abuja at the weekend.
