A federal jury awarded the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville to pay former professor Gwenn Okruhlik $353,000 after she had complained about a hostile environment in her Middle East studies program.
As an assistant professor of political science, she had sued the school for sex bias, claiming her male colleagues had made discriminatory and sexually derogatory comments about her, and conspired to discredit her work.
