The senior class features only one bona fide first-round defensive end, but it makes up for the lack of top-end talent with many prospects who figure to be taken in the second through fourth rounds.
1. Jerome McDougle, 6-4, 267, Miami. An athletic, strong playmaker who beats blockers on the edge. Knows how to play with leverage. Is very quick. Can change directions. Uses his hands well. Is relentless in pursuit.
2. Michael Haynes, 6-3, 260, Penn State. Has come on strong as a senior. A consistent player who can speed rush. Uses his hands well. Has the physical tools to keep developing.
3. Alonzo Jackson, 6-4, 256, Florida State. An explosive end who plays with great effort. Has improved his stock greatly. Is quick enough to blow by tackles. Has enough strength to play the run.
4. Chris Kelsay, 6-4, 265, Nebraska. h typical Nebraska end--a big, strong player with athleticism. Goes all out and uses solid technique. Can play right end. Isn't the most explosive pass rusher.
5. Kenny King, 6-3, 274, Alabama. A very good athlete who can run. Has a nice, well-rounded set of skills. Had improved this season before getting injured. Could be more ...
