If it walks like a BCS team and talks like a BCS team, it must be a BCS team. And Southern California sure looked and sounded like one after its 44-13 thumping of Notre Dame. I hope the BCS bigwigs noticed.

Really, I'm afraid those bowl execs closed their eyes, covered their ears and clenched their jaws tighter with each USC score last Saturday night. See no Notre Dame blowout, hear no Notre Dame blowout, speak no Notre Dame blowout. Hey, anything to avoid this reality: Notre Dame isn't better than USC, which, along with Iowa, is the Irish's competition for the two at-large BCS bowl slots.
