The Pakistan-born, London-raised DJ and producer Sam Zaman has released a number of compilation tracks and remixes under the name State of Bengal, all of them reflecting his twin passions for Bengali folk music and the various dance music genres of Western pop. This is his first solo album, and it includes two tracks ("Flight IC 408" and "Chittagong Chill") that were originally issued on the seminal Asian Underground compilation Anokha (Island 524 341 [1997]).
