The owner of the North-east's Local Hero hotel could find out next week if she will be allowed to keep its new look.

Film fans saw red when they found out Pennan Inn owner Brenda Kutchinsky had given its white walls a blue hue.

And after visiting the seafront building, officials from Aberdeenshire Council's planning department told her she would have to get formal permission for the makeover.

Ms Kutchinsky's retrospective application for consent to paint the exterior of the tiny hotel was considered by the local authority's Banff and Buchan area …
