Starting December 1, all medications imported into Russia shall be certified on the basis of thorough laboratory tests, Deputy Health Minister Anton Katlinsky announced.

According to the high-ranking health official, pharmaceutical inspection departments will now be set up in each of Russia's federal districts to control the quality of medicines produced and offered for sale. This is a forced measure, aimed at stopping the inflow of fake drugs, he explained.
