TEMELIN, South Bohemia - The first unit of the Temelin power plant was shut down for about a month according to a plan last night.

It is to resume operation in January, spokesman Milan Nebesar told CTK today.

PRAGUE - Railway operator Ceske drahy (CD) wants to trim down its workforce next year from the current 80,000 by some 2,000 employees, Petr Stahlavsky of CD press department has told CTK.
