PRAGUE, Dec 1 (CTK) - Today's meeting of the government and farmers has not headed off another protest demonstration planned for Wednesday, Dec 4, when farmers will march through Prague to fight for equal conditions after EU accession and against the financial crisis of the sector, Miroslav Jirovsky told CTK.
The chairman of the Agricultural Association took part in today's meeting with Premier Vladimir Spidla, Agriculture Minister Jaroslav Palas and Czech chief EU negotiator Pavel Telicka.
"Premier Spidla today promised to farmers he would transfer our agricultural sector to the EU without harming them too much," AgriMin spokesman Martin Severa told CTK today.
Jirovsky said on the planned demonstration: "We will meet on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. outside the Agriculture Ministry, we will reveal more details at Monday's press conference."
