RHPs Kevin Appier and Aaron Sele may be on the trading block. Appier and Sele were acquired before last season to provide innings and a veteran presence. But neither won a game after September 4, including the playoffs. LHP Scott Schoeneweis and RHP Mickey Callaway would be candidates to take a rotation spot should Appier or Sele get traded. ... Robb Quinlan was added to the 40-man roster, which could signal an opportunity for him to make the major league club as a reserve outfielder.
