Texans general manager Charley Casserly held the same position with the Redskins from 1990-99. He ranks the players he wishes he had selected when he had the opportunity in Washington
1. Brett Favre (Falcons, second round 1991). We took Bobby Wilson, a defensive tackle from Michigan State In the first round because of need; but his career was cut short by injuries.
2. Larry Allen (Cowboys second round, 1994). He is the best offensive lineman who has come into the league since that draft. We chose Tre' Johnson, a guard from Temple, instead in the second round. But injuries have really hampered his career, too.
3. Terrell Davis (Broncos, sixth round, 1995). A lot of teams passed on him for a lot of rounds, but you still wish you had selected him. In the sixth round, we took Brian Thure, an offensive tackle form California, who was no Terrell Davis.
4. Bob Whitfield (Falcons, first round 1992). He's legally blind in one eye, but he has been a standout for years. We took Desmond Howard; he never became the playmaker and receiver everyone had envisioned.
5. Bryant Young (49ers, first round, 1994). We chose Health Shuler to give us a quarterback for the future. He didn't make it, and Young has been a dominant defensive lineman since coming into the league. ...
