UK POWER-PLANT supplier Aggreko says the installation of a 100MW power station at Embakasi in Kenya marks the fifth major order that the company has won for the provision of temporary power generation capacity in East Africa over the last 12 months. The contract was awarded in April by KenGen following an open public tender. This one power plant will account for about 10 per cent of the country's total generating capacity and will help stabilise the grid as well as provide additional energy for industry. This is the largest temporary power plant to support a national grid that Aggreko has delivered in a single location.
