Land Rover, one of the world's best known names in the four-wheel drive vehicle arena, is jumping into Taiwan's fiercely competitive automobile trade despite a sluggish economy, rising cost, and shrinking sales.
Known for its "heritage and proud tradition," the company said it aimed to corner Taiwan's niche auto market over a five-year period.
"We will never sell thousands and thousands of vehicles in Taiwan, and that is not our objective. We will always be a niche product," said Martin Baker, general manager of Land Rover Taiwan.
