Police at the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos yesterday averted what would probably have resulted in a major disaster when irate passengers of Nigeria Airways threatened to torch the airport over the absence of their luggage after they arrived from New York, United States of America.

Scores of the aggrieved passengers who had arrived the airport at about 9.30.am aboard Nigeria Airways leased B747 aircraft were irked that their outstanding luggage which had been in New York were not ferried home as earlier promised by the airline's officials. THISDAY gathered that …
