As Nigeria and Cameroon battle over the ownership of Bakassi Pennisula the Cross River State Governor and Landlord of the area, Mr. Donald Duke, has said that the issue was beyond the state government, saying what has happened to the state could have happened in any other part of the country.

Explaining the position of government over the issue, during the courtesy call on him by the Annang Community at the Government House, Calabar yesterday, Governor Duke also said the strained relationship between Akwa Ibom and Cross River States over the boundary disputes has been normalised.
