The New Zealand Warriors will be without the experience garnered from more than 600 National Rugby League first-grade appearances when they start their 2003 campaign against the Newcastle Knights at Auckland in March.

It also seems certain the high-flying Warriors, minor premiers and grand finalists this year, will be the youngest of the 15 sides competing for the Telstra Trophy.

Salary cap restrictions caused the club to cut veteran loose forward Kevin Campion and fullback Ivan Cleary. They have also released forward Justin Morgan and centre David Myles, while promising wing Shontayle Hape left of his own accord. …
