LANGKAWI BIRD PARK OPENS TO PUBLIC.

LANGKAWI, Nov 30 (Bernama) -- The Langkawi Bird Park at Kampung Belanga Pecah which has 2,500 birds from 150 species opened to the public today.

Within the first few minutes of its opening at 9am, it had received some 100 visitors including foreign tourists.

Managing Director of Langkawi Bird Paradise Sdn Bhd Yeoh Ee Kee said the two-hectare park had birds unique to Australia, South America, the Netherlands and Papua New Guinea.

"The RM9 million bird park has fully-covered walkways unlike such parks elsewhere in Malaysia and Singapore," he told reporters.
