(From Central News Agency (Taiwan))
N'Djamena, Dec. 1 (CNA) The Republic of China and Chad will issue stamps to commemorate Sunday's inauguration of the Unity Bridge and Taiwan Boulevard, which has been constructed with assistance from Taiwan.
ROC Minister of Foreign Affairs Eugene Chien arrived in N'Djamena Saturday to attend the inauguration of the 12-km bridge, the only two-way bridge in this country.
Chad President Idriss Deby hosted a dinner at his official residence in honor of Chien Saturday, during which the visitor suggested that both governments issue stamps to commemorate the inauguration of the bridge and the Taiwan Boulevard.
Deby accepted Chien's suggestion pleasantly.
Chien said that through the issuance of the commemorative stamps, the people will understand the close friendship between the two countries.
He said that Deby was impressed by the ROC government's hospitality accorded him during his second official visit to Taiwan in March this year.
