Taipei, Dec. 1 (CNA) President Chen Shui-bian signed a World AIDS Day declaration Sunday, proclaiming the government's determination to devote itself to preventing the spread of the deadly disease.
Chen signed the declaration at an exposition showcasing the results of the government's efforts in preventing AIDS held simultaneously with an education exposition in front of the Presidential Office.
Stressing that Taiwan, as a member of the global village, is obliged to address the AIDS issue, Chen urged the government and people in Taiwan to work hand in hand to prevent AIDS and expressed the hope that the AIDS infection rate on the island ...
