MUSCAT, Dec 2 Asia Pulse - An agreement worth RO 21.9 million (US$56.9 million) to construct a seawater intake and return system at Sohar Industrial Port was signed at the Ministry of National Economy today with Bahwan Contracting Company and a Turkish company.

The pact was signed on behalf of the Sultanates government by Ahmed bin Abdul-Nabi Macki, Minister of National Economy and Deputy Chairman of the Financial Affairs and Energy Resources Council in the presence of Mohammed bin Nassir al-Khusaibi, Finance Ministry Undersecretary for Financial Affairs and representatives of the two companies.

The Minister said the project, which is a key component of infrastructure facilities at the port, is hoped to attract industrial investments including foreign investment in the field of gas-based industries.
