Akio Yasuda is a professor at Tokyo University of Mercantile Marine and chairman of the GPS Society of Japan Institute of Navigation. He was recently named vice president of the Japan GPS Council, and in that capacity he now replaces Yoshimichi Inada on the Editorial Advisory Board of GPS World.
Yasuda holds a doctoral degree in engineering from Nagoya University. His research career started with diagnostics of plasma density by laser and microwave.
