ANAHEIM ANGELS The team will have a slow winter. Three Angels are free agents: reliever LHP Dennis Cook and reserve OFs Alex Ochoa and Orlando Palmeiro. Cook, 40, is coming off shoulder surgery and is expected to retire. The Angels are likely to look elsewhere for lefthanded relief help. Palmeiro made $1 million last season and is likely to be back. He hit .300 in 110 games filling in for RF Tim Salmon, who missed six weeks with a hand injury. Palmeiro also provided a surprising spark from the No. 3 spot in the order, hitting .302 in 24 starts there.
