   Be a good child, Sadness, quieten down. 
   You called for evening to come and it is here: 
   the air is darkening, covering the whole town 
   with peace for the lucky ones, for the rest, dull care. 
 
   Now, while the wretched mob of mortal men 
   scrabble after remorse, the usual tawdry show 
   whipped on by pleasure whose tortures are never
