"Gerry Adams, the Sinn Fein president, formed a special unit within the IRA which was responsible for the execution of a mother of 10 in 1972," reported the September 30th London Daily Telegraph. Although Adams has always claimed that he was "interned" (incarcerated) at the time of the murder of Mrs. Jean McConville, Adams was "very much at large at the time," insists journalist Ed Moloney in his new book A Secret History of the IRA.
